Its good to see the quest to build the ultimate folding bike continues. The latest prototype is a bike called The Contortionist by design student Dominic Hargreaves. The Contortionist is a bike that folds into its own wheel. Over the last few years, there’s been a noticeable push by both student and industrial designers to offer an improved and credible 26’’ folder. Last year, Mark Sanders IF Bike was launched. The Contortionist has a full-sized aluminium frame which collapses sleekly into the circumference of its wheels making it a viable commuter bike that can fold up for train or bus journeys. This would give it the smallest fold size of any available 26’’ folder currently available. More information is available on the Sky News and Guardian websites. |
